A LITTLE CONTEXT GOES A LONG WAY

A field guide.
Not a promise.

Tokyo Local gives you a starting point for exploring Tokyo, with English notes and the original Japanese details close at hand.

What’s in the collection?

44 explicitly named entries from the supplied collection, presented as imported guide notes. They have not been independently verified. Menus, addresses, romanized spellings, and operating status may need correction; check the exact venue before traveling.

The original dataset contained 3,450 entries. Its generator synthesized 3,406 entries and created sample reviews. Those generated entries, review quotations, ratings, and “local diner” percentages are excluded from this public build. No reviewer nationality or residency is inferred here.

A map for discovering, not navigating

The 23-ward illustration is a schematic, not a geographic boundary map. Numbers count guide notes in each ward; they are not precise restaurant pins. Google Maps links search using the original Japanese name and address, with English requested for the interface.

Photography & language

Tokyo imagery was supplied with the project and is used for atmosphere, not as evidence of a venue’s appearance. Names, menu descriptions, and addresses are presented in English or romaji first. Original Japanese is retained for searching, copying, and showing to someone locally.
